KR> Engine compartment temp

I seem to remember Cessna 172s having the battery under the cowl... Works for them... Personally, I'm putting mine up there simply for weight/balance purposes - the more weight forward of the CG, the less likely I end up with a tail-heavy plane. On 1/10/2012 9:30 PM, jeffyor...@yahoo.com wrote

Do you need to increase the total amount of oil in a 2180 VW motor if you add a remote oil filter and if you also add a large cap remote oil cooler? I believe my oil cap calls for 3.5 quarts. But I have added about 6 feet oil oil lines to add the remote oil cooler on my firewall plus a remote mo

I have mine mounted on the firewall. You have baffeling that seal the engine area away from the direct heat of the engine. I believe most or many of the KR's out there have their batteries mounted on the firewall. Jeff York KR2 Georgetown Scott county FAA airport of the year 2010 KR Gathering Pe

Has anyone checked their engine compartment temp? I was planning on mounting my battery to the firewall behind the engine, but the battery says to not heat it past 140 F. I am worried the temp may get to hot to mount it there. I could always insulate the box, but will add more weight. Any id
