Gunnar, Steve Bennett at Great Plains ells the Nikasil cylinders as an option, they do weight less. I have not had any experience with them in a VW though. I would stay with the VW for sure and rule out the redrive engine. Look at the Great Plains Rear drive engine as the rear main will handle the
