Well, you first port that code to Kopete. Seeing which client others use is a
nice feature anyway.
Then you could write an anonymous usage statistics plugin for Kopete. That
plugin could then send the popularity of protocols (which protocols are
activated and how many contacts has each protocol)

BTW, don't forget to port some popular 3rd party KDE apps to
KStatusNotifierItem (KShutdown and KMess come into my mind, but I have no idea
about their popularity).
In theory there is a special Kopete plugin to use FB chat, but it never
actually worked for me.

I guess those games would only be usable from Kopete, right?
I wouldn't use it and when they are only compatible with Kopete, you
need KDE software anyway and then people could also play more advanced

I think, the legal obligations only apply when using the official
documentation. Reverse
