That's interesting to me. Yes the EC will emulate an PS2 mouse until the
OS brings up the I2C controller. I would think you can accomplish a
similar result by blacklisting psmouse potentially.

Everytime i suspend my laptop and back it ON, my ethernet connection
shows Cable Unplugged, and r8169 link down.
I can mannualy turn it on with
sudo rmmod r8169
and then
sudo modprobe r8169
but i have to do it everytime i suspend my laptop.
