Impact:
The upstream process for stable tree updates is quite similar
in scope to the Ubuntu SRU process, e.g., each patch has to
demonstrably fix a bug, and each patch is vetted by upstream
by originating either directly

It's hitting an ASSERT_RTNL in netif_set_real_num_tx_queues(), looks
like igb_runtime_resume() thinks it doesn't need RTNL, as rpm == true in
the call to __igb_resume() from igb_runtime_resume(). I'm not sure why
it's written that way since the call to set the queues is unconditional
in __igb_open

I suggest you check that the normal -modules and -modules-extra packages
are installed, then re-generate your initramfs.
$ sudo apt install linux-image-6.8.0-45-generic linux-

$ sudo update-ini
If this patch proves a fix, we plan to release it in the next update. In
this case, update will install the official kernel (which will also
include this patch) and change grub settings to boot this kernel

After upgrade to kernel 6.8, laptop started showing issues on login.
I have two window managers, i3 and Gnome -- i3 raised kernel panic on systemd
and logind the last time I tried to use it.
It managed to login after a while on Gnome, but on `top`, kworker is using 100%
