hi folx,
i have access to a linux box thru telnet and FTP and was thinking of
upgrading the box thru this medium only. But as i recently discovered, this
is not so easy. When ever i try to install an rpm package (on a REDHAT 8.0
system) thru telnet, it gives me the following error, Any pointers

Are you trying to install as root?
Change to root. Telnet may not allow you
to directly login as root. Login as any
other user and su to root.

U have to set up a acl to allow anyone to access your squid proxy. This part
is quite simple. Go thru the squid docs.
