We had Solaris machines in our network and just experimenting with
installation of linux in our environment.
We just install Red Hat 7.3 and use it to access our Solaris NFS server
By doing this activity ..whole network chokes..we shut down the system
and change the rsize & wsize at linux cl
Debian 3.0 is avaliable

use crypt program from shell
crypt < your_file.in > your_file.out
crypt_dir also is available.
Other than this there are few software available
in free domain to do it in a better way, just use
in any search engine
