dear supreet got your email from prateek who says you are the best guy to talk to, regarding the LAP project. some new developments just took place about two hours ago. i suppose it is possible for me to arrange for your CBSE course and documentation stuff to happen, at rapid speed, free, and freedom-based. students and teachers from about 12 to 20 schools, are going to come together, and launch a new website. this website will contain syllabus, course contents, educational software, links to external resources. . . the works. it is a complete documentation project. and it will mention both commercial, and freedom-based software within the contents. HOWEVER, the license of the website itself will be a freedom-based license. the participating schools will publish this under an appropriate freedom-based license, such as opencontent, or openpublication, or even gnu/gpl, such that its freedom is protected and ensured. so this documentation can further be downloaded, or archived and distributed on cds, or even republished as eBooks. those who wish, could also compile and print it as a printed book. BUT THE LICENSE remains free, we do not want any exploitation from publishers.... if you're interested to find out more, we could meet. i live in south delhi, about 3 km from nehru place. however, the meeting has to be short, agenda-based, and highly focussed, since time is my most precious asset. the agenda objective would be to know exactly what does LAP need in terms of documentation, which can then be given to the schools to complete and fulfil. and they will do it as a website in the first shot. later it can be converted to other media. __ / \ ( | | ) ( | | ) ( |____| ) ( ) ( ) ( ) __________________________________________ -------- End of forwarded message -------- ================================================ To unsubscribe, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with unsubscribe in subject header.
