Thanks for pointing it out. I should have checked the docs more closely.
I have implemented the suggestion made in the FAQ and also reduced the
footer text. Hopefuly, it should be okay.
And as far as banning all postings from a particular domain (to fix the
problem of unwanted long disclaimers)
The way I used to 'get past this' was by making my authentic
linux box (the one whose mac address my ISP had in his database) running
as a NAT for a windows machine + a laptop which I'd plug in every now
and then. Naturally, I had to run the 24online client only on the linux
box.

Recently I was in a similar situation at bombay where I was at a
friend's place to connect my laptop to this cable-modem connecion coming
from the cablewallah.
After trying many things, I just went to netconfig and set up the dhcp
setting. I comented the lines in the /etc/resolve.conf
