I was under the impression that we are not supposed/allowed to post
HTML messages to the list. I find that Harshal Vaidya posts only HTML
messages. I am picking out this name because in the last day I got 4
HTML messages originating from him.

Your problem statement sounds a bit incomplete. However i can suggest
this.
Yes, there used to be some IP restriction. Modern Linux systems don't have
such restrictions. You can try the following ..
1. Try pinging to the loopback address 127.0.0.1 => Installation fine
2. Try pinging
Are you able to ping yourself.. or any other machine
on the network.. se yr config again by
ifconfig.

Check the cables.
Also check the output of command
ifconfig
what do you see. Did you get the ip address you have
assigned?
At the time of system startup check if eth0 has ok or
failed written next to it.

Hi Deepak ,RedHat Linux 7.2 comes with some inbuilt
security feature,so you are not able to ping the
node.
Check this, (1)#ipchains -L
if some rules are automatically set then remove them
using (2)#ipchains -F.
For next time save that settings.
