Dear all,
Can someone tell me which log file Linux keeps on updating at run
time. I want to trap if my network connection is down. In Sun Solaris, it
keeps on updating /var/log/messages file. In Linux 7.1, this file is there,
but it doesn't update it on run time. Can someone tell me w
FYI - It is probably /var/adm/messages which you meant
for Solaris I believe. For Linux there are many (one
of them is /var/log/messages) log files and you can
use syslogd to update them or write your own if you
like.
Take care of what subject you write in your mails.

installed is not within that reach , the "some other
fellow" made a new primary par

partion magic7 on my machine for partions ,u can get the cracked sofware on

I guess there is no swap in computer's hard disk.
The 16 mb is the boot partition to keep the boot
information.
It would have worked even if it would have
been 8 MB.
Also I don't think there is not any need to
defragment before using partition magic.
The software itself can do it ,
