Yes.
Consistent copy of non-active (in sense of I/O) volumes can be performed
in any way, including regular dss copy (with no flashcopy), step by step.
However my goal is to perform consistent copy of live system.
I did it in my previous shop, however I wasn't the author of the job and
it was T
Flashcopy copies the track image at the time of the command before the
update is written.

While the source volumes are being updates?

I need to clone a group of volumes, preferably consistently.
Let's say
A001 to B001
A002 to B002
...
A03F to B03F
Any clue?

Adding to the prior comment, the DFSMSdss Storage Admin manual describes how to
create a consistent FlashCopy with the use of the FCFREEZE, PARALLEL, SERIAL,
CGCREATED and ACCVOL keywords:
//SYSIN
COPY FULL INDYNAM(SRC101) OUTDYNAM(TGT101) ADMIN DUMPCOND FCFREEZE PARALLEL
COPY FULL INDYNAM(SRC1

Not being a spaceman to confirm, I believe this doc, "DFSMS Advanced Copy
Services". may have what you want/need:

Yes, Flashcopy - that's what I'm asking. :-)
I'm asking for some sample script, job, commands to use. That would be
the clue.
Currently I have a job with series of ADRDSSU steps with COPY ... FR(PREF)
It invokes flashcopy under the cover, however It is not consistent
across the job steps.

Yes.
Especially important if you are flashing data base’s than span volumes. You
want them all flashed at the same time so they are “consistent” at that time.
In our 8810 we allow the definition of consistency groups and the entire group
is flashed at the same time.

I've never used it, but doesn't flashcopy have a way of defining consistency
groups to do just this sort of thing?
