A miracle has occurred. The SUBJECT option appears in the SORT tab (yahoo!mail
version). I am baffled.
I did nothing. I guess the folks at Yahoo may have seen my bleats !!!
Thanks to all who contributed. A massive thanks to Sri Hari Kolusu who offered

Willie,
It sounds like you are using the "old Yahoo Mail" and not the new one. The 3
dots are not there for the old Yahoo. Not sure how to sort by subject on the
old one.
You may want to switch to the new one.

Archive, Spam, Trash etc. etc.

Willie.

"Inbox, Started, Sent ...etc."
Click on the 3 dots, then click on settings. Should be on "personalize Inbox"

John,
I took your suggestion. When I display the mail (where the sort option is) I
clicked on SETTINGS there is no Personalize mailbox. All that is there are the
following:

I guess I will leave it at that and comb through my mail using the Newest to

I concluded that this is a YAHOO marketing campaign.
The person in question knew how to subscribe to the IBM technical email

When using the web interface go into Settings and under Personalize mailbox
turn off Inbox Categories.
Now sort has "By Subject Line" under Alphabetical, at least it does for me.

the SUBJECT option does not appear. I checked the SETTINGS but nothing. I
even checked the "more settings" but to no avail.I guess this prob
