John, I concluded that this is a YAHOO marketing campaign.
The person in question knew how to subscribe to the IBM technical email list but he does not know, that YAHOO also has a Knowledge base, just like Microsoft. Any credible computer vendor has their own knowledge base.. full stop.
The give away was , when he said, the YAHOO dashboard must be different in Canada. Anybody older than 12 knows , that is impossible and we are being scammed. Lets not discuss "How to use the YAHOO browser interface" on IBM-MAIN,,, please ?
Bottom line ? The Yahoo web interface is one of the weakest email interfaces that is still around

When using the web interface go into Settings and under Personalize mailbox turn off Inbox Categories. Now sort has "By Subject Line" under Alphabetical, at least it does for me.
