You need to install libgtk2.0-dev and you shouldn't need glib1.2.

I've tried to build hbgfgtk, by doing these first:
sudo apt-get install libglib2.0-dev
sudo opt-get install libglib1.2-dev (to run glib-config, otherwise
glibconfig.h couldn't be found)
But I'm still getting the attached errors.
[ All this on Ubuntu 8.04.1, brand new install. ]
