I have used Gnucash since 2011-01-01. I had never used the import function
until this past weekend. I always made all the entries manually. But I recently
realized that my bank allows downloading transactions in qfx format and I
decided to try it.
It was a good time to do so. I recently returne

When one Saves As ..., there is a choice to save as: xml, sqlite3, postgres or
mysql.

You can also delete the .LCK file and the message will go away.

No problems with Gnucash 5.9 on an M1 running MacOS 15.0.1. I will probably
update to 15.1 tonight. It is possible that it is Apple Intelligence causing
problems but it seems unlikely. If I have problems after the update to 15.1,
I'll let you know.

Electrons move very slowly in copper, about 1 cm/sec. The question is the
signal speed in copper, which is about half the speed of light. I got this from
a couple searches in DuckDuckGo. Light in fiber is probably closer to the
vacuum speed of light.

Interesting. Does anyone know if it is only the beta (15.2) or is the problem
also present in MacOS 15.1? Maybe I won't update tonight.

From Seth's comment below, it appears that the problem is only with MacOS 15.2,
the public beta. Has anyone else confirmed that Gnucash 5.9-1 runs okay on
MacOS 15.1?

It still works in 5.9 for me.
When this happens to me it is usually because I am not in the account where the
previous transaction was. e.g. I am trying to enter a Cash transaction with a
lot of history, but it doesn't suggest them. Then I realize, I am in one of the
bank accounts rather than

How long do you expect optical media to be supported. None of the last three
computers I bought have an optical drive. External ones are available, for now
at least. Long term archiving has to include a plan for migrating to new media
as required.
