Disclaimer: I do no multi-currency accounting myself and the above is a very
condensed summary of a long-running discussion. The accountant who is
participating in that bug doesn't like mailing lists but is on IRC so you might
go there to ask him. You should also get
inked GnuCash
unless you built it yourself.

Sigh, it looks like the Gtk Windows Devs have broken using settings.ini, see
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gtk/-/issues/1774.
I was able to get the register font to change to Times New Roman in the
register by creating
C:\Users\John Ralls\AppData\Local\gtk-3.0\gtk.css
with the contents
gnc-id
Followup: I found that using selector #gnc-id-main-window let me set the
font-family globally on Windows.

The link worked fine for me just now.

Is /path/to somewhere accessible by the flatpak's sandbox?

No, but using flatpak (or any other container system) adds constraints on what
you can do because of the sandbox. Surely you can get systemd to run the job as
you instead of as root.

There are far better destinations for your philanthropy, especially this year.
Consider a local food bank or housing-access group.
