Eric,
Since you are receiving the digest, you need to reply all, edit the subject
line and digest contents, and add your new info. I've tried to do a bit of this
here, but the initial thread has gotten seriously messed up.
For what it's worth, you can simply send a message to gnucash-user@GnuC
By which Derek means to imply that there isn't a report explicitly for the
Chart of Accounts.

I haven't tried that from within the GnuCash program for ages and ages. I
just tried it now starting within the release 4.8 version. It immediately,
without a confirmation step, closed the currently open file then started
the new file dialog. I have not tried it from release 5.10 yet to see what
John,
I’ve hunted through Time Machine, and having found only four backed-up copies
of saved-reports-2.8, dated:
9 Nov 2024 (Has UUIDS in the Accounts section)
4 Dec 2024 (Has UUIDS in the Accounts section)
22 Dec 2024 (Accounts Section empty)

Linux Devuan Daedalus ( debian 12 fork ) .
Selected printer : Print to PDF
Paper size is a4 and must be manually changed to us-letter .
Always print to PDF for proofing before printing to paper .
PDF proof does not require change of papersize at print

Gnucash 4.8, 5.x Debian , and flatpak 5.10 current

If printing more than once , printing and preview fails silently .
Is this another webkit feature ?

Printing sets paper size to a4 by default .
My cheques are on us-letter .
I do not always remember to change the paper size when printing .
Which spell must be invoked to have it or them use us-letter by default
?
( mozilla firefox and derivatives do the same .)
Thank you ,

It is more likely that this is associated with the page defaults set
for the printer on your system rather than any setting within GnuCash
itself. The locale settings on your computer likely set the page
defaults for the printer when the computer is setup.
You have not specified which OS you are
When I clicked on New File, I expected to see the setup assistant, but
instead the software shut down. I tried several times with the same result.

Michael,
OK, that explains what happened. There should be weekly Time Machine backups
between 9 November and 22 December. Is 22 December the first one with empty
Account sections? Does the disappearance of the Account sections correspond to
