I have recently upgraded GnuCash to Version: 5.5 Build ID: 5.5+(2023-12-16). However, every time I open the program I now get the following error message. The program appears to work OK after pressing OK. I have tried reinstalling version 5.5 and also copying the libxmlsec1.dll file from

I had to reinstall strawberry perl and finance::quote (1.49) and now can download again all my quotes except for 2 symbols using alpha vantage, vanguard, or yahoo_json. I discovered that gnc-path-check comes back  with a programming error message (below): perl gnc-path-check -v 2>temp.txt C

That normally means that your data is in a database format but GnuCash does not have the correct tools to open it. This can happen after an update. Alas, I do not use a database format but I do know that there are differences depending on which operating system you are using. Let us know which O

Francis, If you look in the folder which contains your gnucash file there should be a set of backup files. Gnucash creates a backup file. I am assuming you are using the XML format files and not a database. The file will have a name of the form .gnucash and the backups will have the form .gnuc
