I ended switching all 7 of mine to yahoo_json, and it took a variety of
efforts: updating F:Q from 1.46 to 1.47, closing and opening Gnucash,
making sure I had no AlphaVantage accounts lurking in the securities

My 25 quotes takes 10-15 seconds.
Check to see if you are accidentally asking for every currency conversion rate
in the book. I think alphavantage is the default (and only?) source for
currency quotes. If you’re trying to get too many of those, you’ll still be
running into the alphavantage dif
I tried this. Went into Tools > Security Editor and changed all items to
yahoo_JSON. In Tools > Price Editor I request quotes but no joy! All I get
is minute after minute of a spinner but no quotes.
BTW, if I do the following for a single fund, I do get a correct quote.

Which is why everyone should speak to a local CPA for official guidance.

No, that's a different (and fixed) problem.
This problem is that the figures aren't getting included in the Windows
"compiled html" help files because the figures directory isn't in the build
directory and the image hrefs are relative.

Hi,
under certain circumstances VAT can be treated as expense/income,
e. g. in Germany when one’s only required to do cash based accounting.
In that case payable output tax and refunds would be treated as income
and input tax and vat payments are treated as expense.
Kind regards

For US stocks/bonds/funds, I’d recommend using yahoo_JSON instead of
alphavantage as the quote source. I haven’t had any trouble getting 25 quotes
at a time that way. I think I still get 2 currency quotes via alphavantage, but
that hasn’t been a problem either.

I'm not sure my main point was understood. Quite apart from all links pointing
to the old database, where each bug report ends with a link to the report in
the new database, the two links I mentioned are wrong. The both point to a bug

Use MSPaint or something to hide any sensitive data. Also switch on
"General / Add options summary" to "Always" to show us which options were

Thank you for the reply.
The last suggestion (suspense account) is basically the "virtual" account
which I also suggested. Sorry for not getting my vocabulary right, this is
all pretty new to me.
Regarding paper trail vs. GC - most of the banks here are moving now away
from paper and more into PDF
I don't know how it should be set up as I'm using this only for personal
bookkeeping.

the customers and have to give it back to the state.

The reverse is also true. Someone wanting transactions older than say 90 days
to be read only would have to change the date every day if it were a specific
date setting.
As of 3.2 it is still a # of days setting, not a date.
I see the utility of both.
Perhaps file an RFE?

This doesn’t answer the base issue of where the accounts are placed in the
report, but shouldn’t that VAT account be a liability instead of expense? Is
this VAT that you are charging customers and passing along to the government?
Or is this VAT that you are paying on purchases?

Hi Geert, strange, I tried it again today, now can import those splits with
each memo.
I think I did something wrong with the import option.
I tried reproducing the double entry and cannot, the import is working fine.
Thanks

Stan,
I think this arises because the shift to https://bugs.gnucash.org
occurred after the release of V3.2 so https://bugzilla.gnome.org was
the active reporting system at the time of the release which is why the
links point there.
Those bugs are all duplicated into https://bugs.gnucash.org so
https://bugs.gnucash.org/show_bug.cgi?id=796098 seems to cover it :-)
Cheers Dave H.
