Looking at this bug report https://bugs.gnucash.org/show_bug.cgi?id=795831 I was reminded of a question I had while entering all my historical data in GC.
This concerns the red line, File » Properties » Accounts » threshold for read-only. Why is the red line set for a number of days in the past, rather than a date? Surely it makes more sense to say "no changes to transactions before 1 January 2018" than to say "no change to transactions X or more days ago". Not only do we have to calculate how many days ago our freeze date was, but the red line _moves_ every day, and we have to re-set it every day. This makes it significantly harder to use than it could be. Or if there's some reason for setting "no transactions before X days ago, could we add the option of setting the red line by date and having it stay at that date? (I'm still in 2.6.19, because as a Windows user the reported bugs have scared me off from upgrading so far. Maybe the red line CAN be set by date in release 3.x?) -- Regards, Stan Brown Tompkins County, New York, USA http://BrownMath.com http://OakRoadSystems.com _______________________________________________ gnucash-user mailing list gnucash-user@gnucash.org To update your subscription preferences or to unsubscribe: https://lists.gnucash.org/mailman/listinfo/gnucash-user If you are using Nabble or Gmane, please see https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Mailing_Lists for more information. ----- Please remember to CC this list on all your replies.
