1) Is this a problem related to the Mac version (and is there a workaround)?
2) Am I doing something wrong? (I don't think so, this is all pretty
straightforward)
3) Is something broken?
Thanks for any assistance,

Alternatively, I can type:

a further symptom of some of the other problems I'm having?

(I haven't
mentioned this before). Is there a different Gnucash that I should
download for use with Gnome? I downloaded the
lesstif-current-1999.01.28-1.i386.rpm in order to get libXm.so.1. Also,
with an earlier download (non-rpm) I ran into the "missing nana" problem
myself.

I still cannot import my .qif file and it seems
that now it is sligthly more difficult to open my existing gnucash file. I
have to go to /root/.gnucash/data/ and open it there.

CVS stuff apparently with no
trouble. Is this a mechanism that will update the source tree
semi-automatically? For example; I got the source tree using CVS today.
If I do it again tomorrow, will it download the whole thing again, or just
the new bits, if any? I'm just trying to unders
update the new stuff. If you can't get the patch to work,

Unless I don't have nana installed which was the point of this whole
excercise. What all do I need for nana? And to echo Jan-Uwe; Why isn't

I'm using Eudora Lite on [gasp] Windows98. Is this then an issue of DOS v.

Well, I got the CVS source tree patched with gnucash.diff (the -p1 option
did the trick). 'autoconf' gave me a cryptic response (which I probably
should have included here but didn't). './configure' went well if I used
--with-eperl --with-swig options. 'make gnome' went find for a while and

I have absolutely no idea what European versions of Quicken do but when
writing checks in Spain, Germany, The Netherlands, or Iceland it is
necessary to write the amount in numbers and then in words.
