Hi all
For a long time, my amarok doesn't fade down anymore each time I use vlc as
phonon backend. As xine is said to be deprecated, I should switch.
Does anyone of you use vlc as a phonon-backend and succeed in amarok fade down
?
If no, what else to do ?

I also tried version 1.4.10_p20090130-r3 and get the same result. I
can compile amarok without error. I also tried compiling with
different use flags. I removed amazon, musicbrainz, mysql, opengl and

I get errors like this whenever amarok updates the collection:
amarok: [ERROR!] GREPME MySQL query failed! No database selected on
"INSERT INTO images SELECT * FROM images_temp;"

Yes, I've run it multiple times. Since amarok will not compile it
doesn't help much. Amarok is the only thing that needs to be rebuilt.

after recent updates (emerge --sync && emerge -uDN world) amarok stopped
working with http://last.fm streams. I've experienced same behavior on two
separate machines. First I've noticed it on my home machine but thought maybe
something changed with last.fm and amarok can't connec
I have followed the same procedure as suggested by Ilya Hegai and my
result was the same as Gian.
It works fine now, many thanks for the help.

At some point, when changing song, I get an error message saying that amaroK was unable to launch Kmail.
