to hear this, but: vixie-cron is problematic in the extreme. I have endless hassle with it's weird behaviours. Use a different cron daemon. Strange. I've never had a problem with it and Gentoo though I use Gentoo primarily as a server. kashani

this for a road warrior setup. Use Openvpn. Way simpler, has a client for all the major OSs, and most importantly isn't based on annoying ipsec. You can use Openvpn between servers as well to setup tunnels. kashani
