No reason to apologize, Greg.
Going into detailed discussions too early in the process is not
helpful. And I don't want to give everyone else the impression that
I'm trying to create barriers for the incubation process.

Yeah... possibly I'm just reading it as obstruction, when the honest intent
is awareness for the future podling. My apologies.

Greg,
That's definitely not what I'm trying to do. Based on the feedback I've
read here so far I'd say the following approach makes sense:
1) See that the contribution of the Flex SDK source code to Apache
happens very soon, to give the Apache Flex community a chance to start
working on it. This

I'm neither committer nor contributor (yet) but I follow all discussions
here concerning Flex very closely. Having Anne as a mentor for Flex would
really be great.
Thanks,

Honestly? My read of your message(s) is, "let's ask for so much stuff at
the start, that this podling/community can never even get started."
How about we rec
I think you do make a good point Raju and one that has been a discussion
topic in our community to some extent but is in my opinion certainly not a
showstopper.
Speaking as a committer - and my feeling is most of us would subscribe to
this - having Flex export as SWF run on the Adobe Flash Player
Thanks, Bertrand. Agreed! :-)
I have never been part of an Apache Incubator process, just wanted to
make sure that the proposal contains as much information as possible
from the beginning; but I guess you are right, that would be too detailed.
Thanks,
Raju

Having Anne as a mentor would be fantastic - thanks for volunteering, hope
you can make it in!
Think its a definite plus to have some mentors with a solid background
knowledge of Flex and the existing community.

to create an alternative runtime, next to Flash/AIR, and it should be
part of the proposal. Since I'm not an ASF member, I can just hint to
it, it's up to the
