AP, Victor,
I dont know how this happened, but the InstallApacheFlex.exe on my server
was a stale version which had a hardcoded link to the wrong
textLayout.swc.
I have updated the installer now. Please uninstall your earlier version
and install from here again:

Hi.
I download what I thought was the latest build from
http://people.apache.org/~bigosmallm/installapacheflex/ , install the
sdk and got the
"unable to load SWC textLayout.swc" error. When I checked the file it
was only 22 Kb. I replaced the file with the 4.6 sdk file and the
error was gone. I lo

AP,
This issue has been fixed a while ago. Are you sure you have the latest

Thanks,
Om

Hi,
I just executed on debug mode, I dont think this is actually a problem to
resolve in the installer itself.
TMG Forefront (Microsoft Threat Management Gateway) is active here in the
customer I'm currently working for - and the SDK download zip file is
actually an HTML created by TMG (which has

Hi,
Few things:
Direct Connection:

version installed; Removing and installing again worked well;

Harbs,
The 'help' page might not be required. We are thinking of adding an 'Info'
page. In that case we will remove the help link.

Well it is included in the DISCLAMER file that is downloaded as part of the
process. Perhaps just display this disclaimer on start up of the installer? Or
in the badge a

Hi,
Very minor point a version number somewhere visible in the installer would be
helpful (or even better the SVN revision number?) Perhaps a link to the source
as well for people who want to build it them selves.
Thanks,
Justin
(1) No DISCLAIMER - no mention that Apache Flex is an effort undergoing
Incubation at the Apache Software Foundation.
the Incubator is not mentioned an Incubator logo would sense.
(4) There needs to be proper trademark attribution to the ASF and others (or
Adobe)
Those things needs to be visible

Great Work!
But is it really only for Adobe Flash Builder?
Should work for IntellJ, FDT, Flashdevelop, ... too?
I noticed another issue with the badge:
"Click here for additional help" goes to here:
http://people.apache.org/~bigosmallm/installapacheflex/help.html which is "not
found"...
Great. Looks good now. I updated the link to the new one. Thanks!
Once the release is live I'll probably put up a blog post on
http://printui.com/blog/ as well.
Exciting stuff! :-)

Yes I know. That's why it's not yet public... ;-) (Not to mention that the link
in the badge does not yet work.)
Awesome work all around! (I wish I had more free time myself to chip in. Maybe
at some point I'll find that time...)

Harbs,
Just a heads up -- the first release of Apache Flex is not out yet. We
should be able to put the official release out very soon (this week?). We
are still waiting for the approval from the IPMC board at Apache.

Looks good to me (except for the missing link) ;-)
Here's a not-yet-public quick post. (I don't have time for the long post it
deserves...)
