Not sure why we would need to. I can't think of a reason why we wouldn't be
able to get Flexmojos to compile the SDK, and if it does, then we have it
mavenised by virtue of being the CI build environment. Admittedly, there might
be some unknowns to iron out, so will not draw any conclusions unti
Agreed. I just thought we could aggregate our collective thoughts about a
FAQ in a new thread, and then move the agreed upon faq line items from the
FAQ thread into a FAQ page.

I think it would be better if the FAQ could be put on the wiki.
David.
I would suggest starting a new thread for a "FAQ".

This would be great content for a separate community list - many of the

I think maven support will make many people coming tu Apache Flex. This's
not only crucial for many of us, is a point of entry for many companies
where maven is the build tool in the company and if flex is provided as an
artifact easily they can use the technology along with others.
So great to kn

Definitely agree. Other questions to add:
1) What will Adobe donate/ what have they donated so far (to be updated as
we go along)
2) How do I become a co

Someone needs to create a FAQ that points to these discussions.
1) Will the next version of Flex output to HTML5
Probably not.
Current roadblocks:
• HTML5 does not support the full API used by Flex. Solutions suggested
include creating an alternative version of the SDK without them.
• Roadblock 2
@Espen

I heard Adobe also has a way to create custom FlexMojo Flex SDKs releases. I
understand they would consider contributing it if there was interest here. I
wonder how this differentiates from Conrad's approach, if both could be
consolidated and helpful for Apache Flex? Has anyone interest and time

I'd argue quite the opposite. Because playerglobal.swc is a moving target,

Omar,
Take a look at whiteboard/frameworks/build.xml - the thirdparty-downloads
and the thirdparty-clean targets.

Just wondered if we could circumvent the issues with hosting and
downloading playerglobal.swc by just stubbing the needed classes by
using native function declarations. This way we could link against the
stubbed as files and would not need to link against the swcs.
E.g. for the playerglobal flash.
