I had a similar problem when I upgraded from an old version (3.6?)
to a newer version(3.10?) during a major OS upgrade.
I had an un-saved custom view on my Inbox. Selecting the Inbox folder
and then setting View > Current View > Messages resolved my problem.

many thanks for your quick replies. Yes, my search text-input field is
empty and yes, also my dropdown shows 'All Messages', these have been
the first settings I looked for after I realized the problem.
It seems to be a bug. Very, very disappointing!

I saw my inbox is empty.I'm sad.i copied ~.evolution/mail/local/Inbox to
other location.Then i imported it to evoloution.But i don't see my
emails.Size of it is 318M.Even i saw inner of it,I saw my emails.But i
