Copying .evolution is not enough (check the archives to see how often this comes up). Evo's settings are maintained in Gconf and you have to copy them from there or initialize them all over again. Note that filter rules contain a string derived from the DNS name of the local machine, so at least one issue is that when the machine's name changes, the filter rules will no longer work. Take a look at .evolution/mail/filters.xml.
