'So the only unref call has a matching ref call pair. This means it
shouldn't lead to the object getting freed. But between those two calls
the property notify handlers get run, etc. It's at least conceivable to
me that one of those handlers is accidentally unr

Could it be that the library used to fetch those translations doesn't
like the utf "\u2003" chars? Replacing "Tomorrow\u2003%H:%M" but

original string returns a translation it looks like the C code doesn't

Ted, that's one of the most reported issues on e.u.c for utopic, maybe
we should turn that off if we don't plan to work on it? that would save

That's likely not due to unity but the way the session works, the
background is displayed by nautilus which is an application, and
nautilus is closed before the session, also the scaling xsettings is set
by unity-settings-daemon, which also exit before the setting close which
might lead to the scal
