Same happened to me. It seems doveadm is changing uids and then chdirs
to the original home directory.
I made it go away by using "sudo". This will not fit all situations.

Most things work fine, but a few of my rules will try to forward mail.
This will fail and my idea was I handle this manually from the folder
Spam/U0-failed.
Unfortunately the mail will arrive there but will also be left in the source
folder
Spam/U0 and will be processed again every 4 minutes ...

We have dropped dovecot in place of UW-IMAP for about 4 users
and have solved our immediate problem: disk I/O overload, mainly
from people doing POP3 and "leave mail on server". Thank you!
Now i got loads of dovecot error messages in the logs and don't know
if there is any significance. Here a

2. Something qmail writes to the INBOX makes dovecot hiccup (like a
wrong Content-Length header :-;).
Which would anyone think more likely?

s somewhat ok if you move mail there and someone
picks it up (we do that with a different folder). But on delivery it
means at some point you can receive spam but no real messages. Not nice.
"ignore" may work if it does what I think (never even count bytes and
messages in this folder) b
ents use for
deleting (like Trash or whatever it is called).

Our currents solution (in test) is a quick and dirty patch to introduce
inheritance to the ACLs by walking up the directory tree, so we need
only one ACL.
A cleaner solution would be very much appreciated.

I have a rather large and active mdbox (28 GB, 3M mess, 1200
deliveries/day). I usually have no problems working with those mails,
and there is some batch processing going on (via doveadm).
Every few weeks I try my luck running doveadm purge, and this
a) crunches about 5GB (to be expected),
b) tak
Dovecot-lda runs under qmail, so you'll find the output in qmail's
logs. If you run, say, doveadm manually, the output will be on your
terminal.

Is there anywhere a collection of folder names for the antispam_trash
and antispam_spam configuration?
Our problem is that in academia, you have a vast amount of different
clients, and some, like Microsoft, use language-specific folder names
*on the server*. So we're now collecting folder names to
ate, but what's wrong with
log_path = /dev/stderr
We have been using multilog for dovecot for a long time.
One problem, though: delivery logs will probably land somewhere else than
server logs.

The correct place would be the MSA.
If all mail genrated by Web appliocations woul pass through a working
MSA fixing them up, a lot of problems would go away.
