A little investigation goes a long way. The more I looked the more I was
convinced that my issues were the result of something being corrupt in
the .thunderbird folder. I made a new profile, re-entered my email
account details and one on my problems was resolved. I could now see th

Thanks for the reply, I tried in safe mode, no difference, I tried with
a new Profile (simply renamed my old one) no difference so it looks
like either an update to either the distro or Thunderbird has broken
something and as the OS is Sparky Linux (Debian Testing for the most

Have you tried starting Thunderbird in "safe mode" so extensions are
disabled? Google suggests holding down Shift whilst starting it does
this. Or, use it as it stands and disable any Add Ons you've in

I am having issues with Thunderbird starting up and not displaying
