Hello, this is a heads up for other Xen users, linux-image-4.9.0-7-amd64 -the kernel package now in ascii-security- has a bug which will prevent booting from Xen both as Dom0 and DomU. There is a bug report at https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=903767 now marked as solved, but
