At the time the SDK was snapshotted, Qt 5.1 had not yet been

Hi All
On the new Qt5Alpha, If I press the SailfishOS Icon on the left of
QtCreator (e.g. to see what packages are installed) I get the
following error:
"The SDK VM is not responding. Create a new SailfishOS project (or
open an existing one) and press the Start SDK button on the lower lef
Hi Chris,
Sorry, forgot about that. I am running on 32-bit Ubuntu.
I successfully could SSH into the Mer VM (haven't tried to go into the emulator
yet though - currently away from my machine).

You don't say what your host platform is.
Running on OSX I don't have this problem - I can start up the default
"Hello Sailors" project on the Emulator.
The error sounds like an SSH problem. Have you tried SSHing to the SDK
and Emulator from a terminal / cmd / console?.

Hi guys,
First up, congrats to the guys on releasing the new SDK.
I thought the first thing I would do after updating would be to see how my
existing project works with the new SDK (namely just making sure it would run,
deploy etc).
I ran into a build error though, so I decided to try deployme

Hi David
Renaming the "old" SailfishOS and the hidden .scratchbox2 directory at
least let me install the new SDK (on OSX) without totally removing the
old setup.
That way the old setup is not usable, but could easily be restored
back to use by renaming back to the original names. It remai
Yes - we tried hard to get that put into the installer in time but had to settle
for a tweet and a note on the homepage that explain you need to uninstall first

Sorry about that :)
Hey
Well, anything's possible!
However I will warn that we did not attempt to support dual installation and
we've experienced many issues during QA testing when we've not fully removed the
old version.
One issue is that as well as QtCreator, we also use VMs and they have the same
name; another i
Hi David
Good news!
Does the "old" Qt4.8.3 Alpha really need to be removed? Can't the new
Qt5 Alpha be installed alongside? (I currently have 3 different
versions of Qt Creator + SDKs installed, so one more can't hurt can it?)
Or is that just asking for trouble?
Being naturally suspicious

Hello,
it would be nice to have some information how to update. Simply install
on Windows do not work. I deinstalled the old version and then it works.
Is this the recommended way to do an update or is it even simpler ?
BTW: nice to see an update of the SDK!!!
Best Regards,
Stefan
Am 01.08.
First of all, thank you very much for waiting - and now here is the SailfishOS
SDK Alpha-Qt5 update supporting Qt5, QtQuick2 and Wayland!
In this release we roll out a SailfishOS SDK that works like it's predecessor
but supports Qt5 and QtQuick, with it's graphics pipeline switched from X11 to

That is great news! I hadn't expected to see Nemo Mobile move to

Didn't know there already was a Qt5 based homescreen and Wayland compositor.

Hello Thomas,
I'm still subscribed to this service with my eplus (business) simcard -
however, this may become subject to change since O2 is probably overtaking
eplus soon.
As far as I know, at least Orange (UK and AT) is still offering this
service at present.
Cheers,
