Jeffrey, you're correct regarding metacity if the same problem is seen
outside of unity-2d, so the bug should be valid for trusty even though
there are now fewer environments using it.
I think ideally metacity would be in universe, but it's still depended
upon by compiz packaging wise.

@John: This bug report is of course not invalid!! The bug reporter
points out an Ubuntu inconsistency which ought to be fixed somehow
MP, I face exactly the same bug.
My workaround:
Hovering over "invisible" unity dock location in the search for synaptics (wich
requires admin password).
When this is clicked (started) I can switch with alt-tab towards the password
entry field (even if it is not visible in the foreground!)

issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to

I started with compiling kernel v.3.8 19f949f from
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git.
When I boot my PC with kernel 3.8 lightdm doesn't even start and I get a black
screen, I am attaching dmesg from booting on kernel 3.8.
After re-booting on Ubuntu kernel again I ge

1.5.3? or .5? Changed it to Super+Space, if I recall correctly... Check
your ibus-setup hotkey to ensure its Ctrl+Space.

There is workaround for people trying to find a permanent fix (like I
do). The program called HOT CORNERS works on both WinXP and Win7 (I
guess nobody is using Win8, at least the ones that know anything). You
set lower left corner (for example) as screensaver disabled and it
doesn't start.

Actually, a better label would be CONFIRMED rather than NEW. That's what
NEW really means, it does not refer to the bug's age.
