After recent updates, using right-to-left environment, such as Hebrew, the
clock on top of the screen shows the time in reverse.
For example, instead of showing 17:59,it shows 59:17.

so hard that I cannot even switch to a different tty.

The problem is that this is not really a gnome bug. I can't just go to
gnome bugzilla and say that there is a problem in gnome because it does
not auto-update its cached data after I manually edit the X keyboard
layouts - this is not something a regular user would do.

I also tried to replace the /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/il with the
version from git linked here and reboot. Now, when I use the gnome tool
for displaying keyboard layouts I see the numbers in place, but they do
not work. Pressing the number keys in lyx layout still does not work.

To reproduce:
1. Add Hebrew (lyx) keyboard layout.
2. Switch to this layout.
3. In gedit, try typing a number "12345678" from the numeric row (not the
keypad).

I can confirm that the PPA brings the layout indicator back.
However, it brings a new problem. Now it is much more difficult to set a
keyboard shortcut for changing layouts.
In the Typing section of the keyboard shortcuts I am not able to set the "next
engine" to be a combination of shifts and/
I get a similar freeze with high cpu (not crash though) with 64-bit
libre office, also after several minutes. This happens under gnome-
classic, so it is not necessarily related to bug #1041354 which is
relevant to unity.

The default server of gnome-dictionary offers no less than ~70
dictionaries. It always brings results from all of them. This takes a
lot of time. I cannot even control the order of results, so I have to
