when I do LightDM+Unity, only when I do text boot (i.e. when I've done
systemctl set-default multi-user.target (instead of graphical.target)),

I was referring to the cups scheduler. You might have issues with
applications (or system applications as in the case with samba) trying
to perpetually connect to your devices' embedded colour profiles and
fails spectacularly when said profile no longer is accessible.

Well I used to maintain compiz so have a rough idea.
The desktops is just a window from nautilus that is composited by
compiz. The bug probably lays between those. Not Mesa.

When I start any GTK program, I get thew following error:

After writing this bug report I did a reboot, I started the normal
programs I am working with now : Firefox, Chromium , LibreOffice and
there were no more system problems/crashes reported (I think I waited
for 10 minutes in case some error showed up, but
