Everything seems ok after rebooting again.

After writing this bug report I did a reboot, I started the normal
programs I am working with now : Firefox, Chromium , LibreOffice and
there were no more system problems/crashes reported (I think I waited
for 10 minutes in case some error showed up, but everything seems fine)
Thanks !

Title:
  package libsane-common 1.0.25+git20150528-1ubuntu2 failed to
install/upgrade: trying to overwrite '/etc/sane.d/hp.conf', which is
also in package libsane:amd64 1.0.23-3ubuntu3.1 this crash happened
after an interrupted upgrade from 14.04 to 16.04

Status in sane-backends package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:

this might be connected to another crash that caused an interrupted upgrade
from 14.04 to 16.04:

When I was trying to do the upgrade, when I was still in ubuntu 14.04
after the installer had downloaded all of its packages and I think it
was starting to do some modifications I'm not sure what, while I was
waiting for this to finish , I was watching a movie on vlc and I
accidentally pressed the windows key which is supposed to bring up
this window with search your computer and right after this key pressed
the system froze - there was no reaction from any keystroke or mouse
action - even after waiting for 2-3 minutes after the freeze. So I did
the forced shutdown by holding the powerbutton for 5 seconds.

after this I followed the instructions on the an ubuntu help page of how to
deal with this interrupted upgrade (this one:
http://serverfault.com/questions/8540/recover-from-shutdown-during-ubuntu-distribution-upgrade

and then after upgrading also this one:
  http://askubuntu.com/questions/657940/how-to-resume-the-interrupted-
  upgrade-from-14-10-to-15-04)

and I successfully upgraded... I think. I rebooted the system after
the upgrade and then this program crash happened. I don't know how it
affects the OS because everything seems to be working ok so far.

Thank you for taking the time to solve this !
