Whenever I plug my external HDD I get this crash after entering the password
for the LUKS encrypted volume.
I expected the volume to be auto mounted and its contents appear in
Nautilus
What happens is that the HDD disappears from Nautilus and I have to
close and reopen Nau
I can confirm this behavior on a fresh install of 16.04 on the Dell XPS 13
developer edition.
I get the same error message when trying to setup a wireless connection in
lightdm. I don't whether this connected or not but the hotkeys (volume up/down,
screen brightness) also don't work in lightdm.

Your solution works when I lock/unlock my PC, but not when the PC is locked by
idle time.
Anyway, I prefer to keep your workaround with the Ctrl+c shortcut and set back
the sna acceleration mode.

Trunk has an aspect ratio limit for docking, but that's still work in
progress. There's supposed to be some UI in the future that allows to
toggle/change it. For now you can do this:

Knocking down to Medium importance. The patch Dan supplied mitigates the
problem by omitting generated interfaces so that knocks the noise level
down a bit. A fix is probably a little dicy and seems like it should be
tied to the node's role/configured services, hardware configuration,
etc. etc.

I am experiencing this issue on 16.04 LTS when resuming from suspend.
Running `sudo systemctl restart NetworkManager.service` works around the
issue and brings the network back up.
