It's unlikely to be due a change in the NVIDIA driver, since we (NVIDIA)
have not yet identified a root cause for the touchpad freeze.
As this problem is highly sporadic, and can take several hours in some
cases to reproduce, if it reproduces at all, we should probably wait for
more confirmations

An I+N machine, Lenovo ThinkPad T440p (CID 201309-14169),
could not reproduce this issue.
However,
I tested this fix by the following steps:
1. install Ubuntu 14.04.1 on Lenovo ThinkPad T440p (CID 201309-14169)
2. sudo apt-get install ubuntu-drivers-common ( to be the latest version
1:0.2.91.6)
Great. If that's true the question is which package fixes the bug.
Since NVIDIA was able to reproduce this issue a while ago, any news on
this or any hint which package is actually causing the bug?
It does not look like it is nvidia-prime according to the changelog.
It is just kind of disappoint
I can also confirm this.
New install of remmina on 12.04 attempting to connect to windows 2012
system (that rdesktop will not connect to).
Any progress on this?

I disagree with the duplicate link to 578431.
That bug is just about wifi components spamming to Syslog.
This bug covers a situation where people's WiFi connections are being
repeatedly dropped (to the point of unusability) due to issues in the
wifi stack. The logging captures the drops.
