We had someone on Ubuntu forums with what seemed to be this issue. User
"deadflowr" suggested it was because /usr/share/xsessions/ubuntu.desktop
was missing, and indeed it was. So the related package, ubuntu-session

I use inkscape on ubuntu 13.10. It seems that's the 0.48.4 released. I use it
on debian testing right now.
Finaly i could recover my file.
I set the resolution to 800x600 on a single scrren, I put th maximum thread I
could on inkscape preferences and also affect more memory to inkscape buffer.
