Just like to add I've found the same problem using a Samsung T10. This
used to work fine in Intrepid. I'll try your advice thanks Paul.

It's definitely not fixed, I just experienced it again. Unfortunately I
didn't have apport enabled and I can't reproduce it again. I've
permanently enabled apport so hopefully next time this happens I can get
a new bug report for this.

Why is this bug invalid?
I'm experiencing the same problem on Ubuntu 9.10 64 bit. I'll try and
post some more useful details later.

I'm having a similar issue with Evince. It's quite weird though, I seem
to always get this error if the Evince window is out of focus, but if I
keep the window in focus it works. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but
that's been my experience so far. I'm trying to print multiple pages
from a PDF, but

I did not have this problem in Hardy but am experiencing it in Intrepid.
If I have workspaces in more than one row, eg. 2 rows, 2 columns, and
run "compiz --replace" the switcher ends up with four workspaces all in
one row on the top, and nothing in the bottom row. Screenshot attached.

Would this bug qualify as a papercut or would it be non-trivial to
solve? I had the same experience when copying a disc with Brasero
directly. It will ask me to insert a blank disc and will start writing
to it but the Nautilus dialog will also pop up asking what to do with
the blank disc which must
I've found I get a very similar error that causes Nautilus to crash if I
try to view a folder containing SVG images I created in Inkscape, and I
guess these are what gnome-shell is trying to create a thumbnail for.
The same error also occurs viewing the images with eog. These images

ZaHACKieL, are you using Ubuntu 9.10? I haven't had this problem since

either though, it seems to be a very rare occurrence.

I've got the same problem. Ubuntu loads very quickly to the login
screen, then takes 26 seconds to show my wallpaper + icons + panel. I've
attached my .xsession-errors when running gnome-session with the --debug
option. I only started my session and loaded gnome-terminal to copy the

Binary package hint: nautilus
If a user wants to make a symbolic link to somewhere in a directory
where they don't have write permissions or to a file/directory on a
fat32 partition they have to do it through the terminal.
Say I want to create a link to /windows/My\ Document
What I mean is that in a terminal you could do something like:
ln -s /var/www ~/Link_to_www
What nautilus does is similar to:
cd /var
ln -s www Link_to_www
You have write permissions to your own home directory so could make a
link from there to somewhere else where you don't have write permission
