I have this on ubuntu 17.04. It's very annoying; every time I copy large
files to/ from a USB drive the PC slows/ stutters until the copy has
finished
And I find it very surprising that this bug is still not assigned

Got this bug on Ubuntu 16.04 (updated from 12.04). Unable to use Alt+Shift on
GNOME Metacity session.
gnome-control-center says that I use "Alt+Shift L" or "Alt+Next Group", but it

under heavy computational load for an extended period of time (video
encoding) There were no remote GVFS mounts as in atimonin case. I did
not experience lagging as Valentis did.

So this may imply that there are multiple places managing the filetype
<-> application relation.
I had "PDF Mod" set as default appl
additional info: If the wrong application (PDF Mod) is listed in the
first row of the right-click menu of the pdf-file and this is row is
