I don't have windows at all but I have a bug with the very same
symptoms: boxes instead of letters in evince. This came after a recent
upgrade to natty. I don't know where to look at, but I have some ms
fonts installed (I think this comes from some restricted-extras
package).

*can* specify that preference, is given the impression that their
decision is being ignored. I don't think you can blame them for

Movieplayer plays films from hard disk so: about 1 minute shows fluently then
10 seconds stays still 1 min plays fland so on.
I tryd to install codecs but i didnt find the right repository.If you tell me

movieplayer doesnt work properly without stopping from time to

i copied pango folder from "/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu" to "/usr/lib/" and
no more errors.
