I should also mention that there doesn't seem to be a way to import a CA. Eg,
one test I perform for xulrunner updates is:
1. go to https://www.cacert.org/index.php?id=1 and verify the browser prompts
for untrusted certificate
2. go to http://www.cacert.org/certs/root.crt to import the certificat
I confirm this is fixed in lucid ... wine apps can display notification
icons now. However, this is still an annoying problem on karmic.

I have found that the issue occurs when I try to copy a file from RhythmBox to
an existing playlist (see screenshot attached).
I can write files to the ipod if I copy to the ipod "root" itself as displayed
in RhythmBox, and NOT to the playlist. From RB, I can

I don't get the segfaults into syslog any more, even though I copied
back the buggy empty GNOME_* files. The gdm-* and gnome-* logwrites are
the only ones that look even remotely related to the panel issue - or
maybe not?

I can't reproduce this using MSN with both ends are using empathy as the
client. Based on all the comments and the attached patch for telepathy-
butterfly that apparently fixes this issue, I am thinking this must be
specific to one end of the conversation using MSN messenger. If that is

the new comments indicate rather a local corruption, libnm-util.so.1 and
GNOME_PilotApplet.server seem broken, you should check your box and
reinstall the binaries having those files to start

Yes I can write a new file to the desktop iPod folder, and see it when the iPod
is disconnected (I've confirmed this on two different generations of iPod)
So the issue (from my point of view) seems to be specifically writing to
playlists, but the fact I can write downloaded files such as podcasts
