I have a new install of 10.04 on a Intel board with 815E chipset and
Celeron processor. The video is is the integrated version in the 815
chipset. On this machine, Lucid launches with no gnome-panel, but
otherwise xwindows is working.
On first launch, before any updating, gnome-panel did appear.

Sometimes when I pause a song, it keeps playing even though Rhythmbox

Looks like the pkill gnome-panel by itself only fixed the problem
indefinitely for the build account. The subsequent user account which I
created breaks with every reboot (or logout/login). I tested making the
other user account a priv'd account, but this made no difference.

I would like to point out that the PPA I made is not official, and turns on
RGBA with (probably) different code than this bug uses. So, if you are using my
PPA and there is a problem with it, email me (I think my email is on my page on
launchpad) and I'll try to fix it.

as stated on that page this only affected my 6 machines when compiz was
enabled. Once none for desktop effects was chosen the issue ceased on
each machine. I see others have noticed this as well.

In 8.04 x64 I get a webcam configuration error. My laptop has a
revolving webcam, and I suspect this has a loose connection, as the
login screen and login happen much quicker if I fiddle with the camera.

problem with the cups apparmor profile. I'm not sure what issue Joachim
Beckers is having as his log is not showing a profile issue. I'm also
not sure what issue the original reporter is having either.
So, my advice is that:
I'm pretty sure I've seen this (or something like it) on 10.04. I don't
have documentation or evidence, though. If I see it again and have
opportunity, I'll try to collect it.

I had the same problem on Compaq Evo Laptop (has no floppy and no option
to disable)

- comment out (put # in front) the floppy line in /etc/fstab
