Putting the buttons on the left side is very functional. Make a test and
you'll notice that whenever you open the window, the pointer is always
closer to the left than the right side of the window, meaning less
pointer movements over the desktop.

error message. I purged gdm and then I reinstalled gdm and strangely
enough now it gives me a choice between kde and xterm at the login
screen. Before the purge it was not giving me any choice for a desktop

Does not work with Gmail addresses. This feature is available with Gmail
