In my case this bug only occurs when my Thinkpad R51 is undocked. When
my Thinkpad R51 is docked in a ThinkPad Dock II the bug does not occur.
The ThinkPad Dock II contains an additional 320 GB hdd.

My parents use their laptop partly as an electronic picture frame, and

A. key pressed as mode selector
When pressing the shift key, the mouse cursor changes from a hand to a
caret cursor. Next the mouse can be used for selection and automatic
copy like it is currently doing.
B. button mode selector in the toolbar

totem-video-thumbnailer crashed during copy of a dv camcorder file from
one hard disk to another (18GB). Nautilus stops copy this file and totem
and totem-video-thumbnailer doesn't respond anymore. I cannot kill them
with kill or killall. Only a reboot stops them (why i cannot kill them
as root?!?)
I can confirm this happening in Karmic, Totem shows the wrong length at
startup, but after a few seconds it updates the value correctly. This
bug also produce an annoyng problem, because when the length is wrong
you're not allowed to use the seek bar to move inside the song.

Hi, I don't know if it's a bug in nautilus or in gnome.
I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 alpha2.
When I'm trying to open "fonts:///" location in nautilus, i get
following error:

Hmm, looks like the services are not correctly loaded, which can
actually lead to this kind of trouble. I've reproduced the problem once
here in Karmic, but I'm not able to get it in a Lucid virtual box.

Double-clicking still doesn't work for ubuntu 9.10 and netbeans 6.8.

Print preview of Evince is attached (in front of Evince's main
window)---issue is visible. AR and Xpdf don't offer a print preview. But
you can print to a file from Evince and AR to see the difference. I'll
attach both files.

I can't see thumbnails for svgz files either. Not sure if this is a
regression or a different problem, because opening in EoG no longer
fixes the thumbs.
If I rename a svg file to svgz it does re-render the thumb, if I rename
a svgz file to svg then it doesn't re-render it. librsvg appears to be

I have attempted to up grade to 9.10 from a wonderfully running 9.04 with out
success. No sound, nadda, zip. The volume control listed in 9.04s start up
manager is missing in 9.10. I had even back dated the kernel to 2.6.28-17 and
successfully got my tv card to show the picture but I still don't
In testing this using Xubuntu 9.04, the screensaver is installed by
default with the option "Lock screen when screensaver is active"
unchecked. After checking this option, using the "Blank screen"
screensaver, the password prompt is given to log back into user1 after
user2 logged out.
