I found that in fact, changing “Caps_Lock 0×0 inhibit” to “Caps_Lock 0×3a
capslock” was a wrong solution (see
http://linuxsagas.wordpress.com/2009/01/17/ubuntu-intrepid-woes-keyboard/ ).
This is the cause of the inversion of CAPS LOCK. For example, press :
a CAPS LOCK a 5 (or another numpad key)

Steve, on my U100, killing hald-addon-generic-backlight doesn't seem to

After my upgrade vom jaunty to karmic beta via "update-manager -d" I got

Some comments about a possible resolution so that interested parties can

- the bug seems to be triggered by gnome-keyring being launched early in the
session,
IMO this is not a Vinagre bug, I'd blame gnome-keyring. It should

blank sheets of paper from Acrobat as of today, or at least some time
this week. As I recall there was a poppler update just a day or two ago.

The mentioned script kludges aren't always an acceptable method to
workaround this problem. We need a patch to zenity to allow proper
functionality. (return suitable error status when cancel button is
used.)

I can confirm this bug, however with the difference that I do not seem
to get a gstreamer error message in the system log.
I have also tried updating with todays gstreamer updates, but to no
avail.
(KK RC + latest updates)

The error here is that XRRGetScreenResources fails with a BadRequest
error. The only reason this should happen is if the server doesn't
support version 1.2 of RANDR. I'll try adding a run-time check in gnome-
desktop for this and ask someone to test it

Indeed, that is the most likely culprit here. This didn't crash in
Jaunty because it wrapped the unsupported call with gdk_error_trap_push
and gdk_error_trap_pop to catch the error. That doesn't happen anymore
in the new version (and it uses a different, but still unsupported call)
