Ubuntu 8.04 permanent updated, firefox version 3.0.10, NAS IB-NAS4220,
I safe an html-file incl. html-folder on this externel disk, all is o.k.
but if I will open this file Firefox started and give the message
unknown. If I remove the html-file

Only just in time after saving the html-file and the html-folder is it
possible to open the html-page but not in a new session of Ubuntu or
after a new mount of NAS-disk.

Why do you ask about Jaunty? Couldn't you reproduce this bug in Hardy?
In my opinion, if this problem is even fixed in Jaunty, Hardy (LTS) is still
affected...

That isn't a file-roller bug. For me, the zip file works perfectly ok in
file-roller. The rar file fails in the way that you describe, but also
fails when running unrar-nonfree from the command line too.
